#12 On List Of Things That Will Ruin Your Business: Murder
Fri, Jul 11, 2008
You know what’s not good for business? Having someone get murdered in your establishment. It’s right up there with rat infestations, salmonella outbreaks, and rude customer service.
Actually, it’s probably above rude customer service. Anyway, do you guys remember last year when that poor fellow was killed in a fight at Sputnik’s?
Well, a new article in the Hendersonville-centric page of the Nashville paper’s website says that business has been bad for Sputnik’s ever since.
Well, duh.
And it’s finally gotten so bad that the owner is selling the restaurant/bar and moving to Michigan–I hope, for her sake, that she doesn’t open a new restaurant anywhere near Flint… because I’ve been to Flint, and let me tell you, those people are… murdery. Scary place.
Oh, there have been a couple lawsuits too, which have helped to speed along the demise of Sputniks–one suit from the widow of the fellow who was killed, and another suit from a guy that got his leg broken when he tried to step in and stop the fight.
Anyway, the new owner will reopen the place under a new name, which will surely make everyone in town forget that a dude got killed there. And business should pick up pretty quick after that.
