When Mayor Scott Foster ran unopposed for a second term as mayor of Hendersonville, I doubt he expected to get every single vote. Surely there would be some write-in votes cast for various community members.
But I somehow doubt he expected to lose votes to Mickey Mouse, Snoopy, Kerry Collins, Dave Ramsey, & Mike Ditka.
A total [...]
Well that was fun. We should hold these huge elections more often. It’s fun standing in line for two hours to have a chance to push some buttons on an electronic device that appears to have been built in 1982.
But seriously, I hope everyone had a good election day, even if your favorite candidate didn’t [...]
Sumner County Republicans have outdone their Democrat counterparts in the fundraising department this election cycle, beating them by nearly $12,000.
That’s not terribly surprising. From what I understand, this has long been a Republican county. But are they able to raise so much more money because there are more Republicans than Democrats in Sumner County? Or [...]
Okay, well maybe not a cage match. But definitely a debate. All the candidates for the various open Hendersonville Alderman wards squared off last Friday in an open forum that probably next to no one attended.

I’m curious to know how many of you watched last night’s debate. Was the local connection (the debate was at Belmont University) an extra draw for you? Would you have watched no matter where the debate was held?
Were you far too wrapped up in the mini Dirty Jobs marathon on Discovery to even remember there [...]

Representative Maggart sent a letter out to doctors that asks for donations so she can defeat the “trial lawyer” Allman–who she says is out [...]
Election Day is nearly upon us, just over a month away. That likely means that many of you have already made up your minds.
Those of you who haven’t will probably be tuning into tonight’s first Presidential Debate–which is “back on”, for those of you who hadn’t heard. I’ve already made up my mind… mostly… but [...]
So last night there was a big school board meeting in Gallatin. On the agenda was Mr. Benny Bills, the director of the school system.
Seems he approved some paving projects without the board’s permission that ended up costing over $700,000.
So Mike Fussel, Chairman of the school board, was kind of favoring letting Bills go. And [...]
So incumbent Republican State Senator Diane Black (18th District) is running against Democrat Jim Hawkins, and this race just got a little spicy.
Seems Black went on a radio show called “The Breakfast Show” on 1010AM WHIN the other day and had some political discussions. In the course of that interview, she said the following:
“If you [...]
