Crack Open Your Wallets, Hendersonville

The Mayor wants to push a 12% tax increase for Hendersonville, to help cover costs during this recession.  It would result in about $60 more per year for the average homeowner.  Wonderful.

Not that I am mad at the mayor.  Seems like a great guy.  Sometimes taxes are a necessary thing.  Nobody wants higher taxes, though, especially in a time when nearly everyone’s struggling a bit.

Of course, you apartment dwellers… you’re home free.  You just keep going about your life ignoring pesky things like property taxes.  In fact, you can set up lawn chairs and point and laugh at all the rest of us as we drive by every morning.  But FYI… your rent is going to go up for your next lease, as the landlord passes the tax hike on to you, so you’re in the same boat we are.

Ha!  In your face, apartment dwellers!
