Sumner Shortcuts

Of all the things in life that motivate people, I would have to think that free walnuts is pretty low on the list.

Maybe I’m just out of touch. Maybe walnuts are the new cool-kid currency at school; like Pogs, only edible.

A recent Sumner County Craigslist Ad reads:

Free Walnuts for the taking…..in my back yard!! (White House /Springfield)
Please come take these out of our yard….you pick up

Seriously?  For the taking?  I am so there.

Or not.

This has to be the most thinly veiled attempt to use Craigslist offers as a way of finding free labor that I’ve ever seen.  So you have a walnut tree and it’s wreaking havoc on your windows every time you mow the lawn.  What to do… what to do…

I know!  Post an online ad declaring our annoying walnuts free for the taking.  Problem solved.

Oh well.  I personally prefer to get my walnuts the old fashioned way… stealing them.  I’m kidding!  I get my walnuts on eBay.  They may not be free that way, but at least I don’t have to go crawling along on hands and knees to pick them up myself.

Man, if only the apple-needing people from earlier today needed walnuts instead of apples.  We could kill two birds with one stone here just by hooking them up together.
