Health Inspection Score
Dos Margarita’s, Hendersonville
53
We used to go to Dos Margarita’s back when it was called Loco Lupe’s. Didn’t even know they’d changed names (and owners, from what I’m told) until a few months ago.
And the name isn’t the only thing that’s changed.
Apparently, they’ve also changed food safety philosophies, switching from “clean, safe food” to “eh, whatever… we don’t care.”
Dos Margarita’s got a 53 on their most recent health inspection (June 10, 2008). A 53. That means they missed just under HALF the points possible.
Do you dare keep reading to see where they missed points?
- No spoilage of food
- Potentially hazardous food meets temperature requirements
- Sewage & waste water disposal
- Backflow, plumbing
- Presence of insects, rodents
- Toxic items properly stored
- Free of litter
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Look, I really liked the food there back before the switch–honestly haven’t been there since. But after seeing a score like that, what do you think the odds are I’ll be heading there soon?
It’s really easy to blindly eat restaurant food without entertaining the idea that maybe the kitchen isn’t the cleanest place. But once you start paying attention to Food Safety Inspection scores… it suddenly becomes very important to you.
You can view the entire inspection report here. Here’s hoping Dos Margarita’s fares better on their follow-up visit.
