HHS Versus Beech: High School Football Showdown… Televised!
Thu, Aug 28, 2008
The big game between Hendersonville and Beech high schools this year will be televised. Sweet!
UPN 30–now known as MyNetworkTV–will be carrying the game, which causes the event to be moved to tonight due to scheduling reasons–UPN is committed to showing Jaws tomorrow night.
That’s right. An old Steven Spielberg movie about a shark is cause alone to bump an entire high school football game. Not that the schools care about playing a day early. I’m sure they’re pleased as punch to be on the tube.
Anyway, the Beech/HHS rivalry is one of the biggest around these parts–just slightly less prominent than the classic Hendersonville-vs.-Gallatin debate. It’s a huge annual event, and there’s simply no substitute for being there in person. But… if you must miss the game… you can catch it on UPN.
Imagine being a high school football player in the biggest game of the year and you find out it’s going to be on TV. That’ll get you revved up for the game. Sure to be a good time for everyone… unless someone fumbles or something.
