Selfishness Is The Root Of All Evil

Everyone has performed a bad parking job before. You’re pulling into the parking lot at Kroger or some other store and you’re on the cell phone and the kids are screaming and… well… you’re just not as alert and focused as you want to be. And the result is usually that you’re parked a little crooked in your space. Or you are touching one of the lines.
Those bad parking jobs are forgiveable.
The bad parking jobs like this one, however, where the car literally straddles a line and takes up two spaces, are the kind that make me want to go on a murderous rampage.
There is not one excuse a person can give me for a parking job like this one that is defensible. A person who parks like this is either so selfish that they simply don’t think about other people AT ALL… or they’re drunk (newsflash: drunk driving is also selfish)… or blind (in which case they should not be driving at all).
I suppose the most common excuse for this kind of parking would be that the person is trying to avoid getting a scratch or a ding in their expensive new ride. And to that I say, “Then don’t buy expensive new cars.”
If you’ve spotted a bad parking job around Sumner County, be sure to send it to us. We’ll blur out license plates to keep things anonymous-ish (say that five times fast), and we’ll throw it up on our little website here for everyone to gawk at.
