Six DUI’s, That’s Gotta Be A Record
Wed, May 6, 2009
Here’s a fun little story about a local man who can’t seem to stop himself from drinking and driving. He loves it so much he’s actually done it six times–actually, he’s been arrested for it six times… Lord knows how many times he’s done it without getting caught.Â
I’ve never heard of this guy, and I don’t know him. And I have no interest in embarrassing him further than what the Tennessean article will do.Â
However, it’s a pretty decent time to remind my lovely readers how tolerant we are as a society of this behavior. I could make an argument that the fact that he was on the road driving after the first five arrests–heck, the first one or two–is ridiculous.Â
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: drunk driving laws are not working, and they aren’t nearly strict enough, mostly because Americans love to drink. Thank God no one was killed in an accident here… but really, am I that callous an individual if I say there’s no way a five-time DUI offender should be allowed to drive?Â

I agree. Much less dangerous but just as frequent is DRIVING WITHOUT INSURANCE. We all pay extra to cover those that don’t have insurance.

You are absolutely correct. Driving without insurance is a bad, bad thing. Oh–and driving while texting… or putting on makeup.
