Soldiers Don’t Need Daycare
Mon, Jun 30, 2008
Jim says he works in Hendersonville, and that there is a daycare near his work that had this marquee message for a couple weeks. It reads, “Please pray for our soldiers we are enrolling for Fall classes.”
Um… most daycares focus on offering supervision for little ones… you know, toddlers. Now, I’m all for stretching the business model a bit, maybe take on some teenagers or something.
But soldiers? Man, if there’s any type of person out there who absolutely does not need daycare… it’s a serviceman or woman. They’re pretty handy with things like guns, and hand-to-hand combat, and eating snakes and stuff. Seems to me they can take care of themselves.
But you’re definitely right about one thing: If you’ve got soldiers being enrolled in daycare… those soldiers definitely need extra prayers.
Mental note: When using the marquee to convey two separate messages, make sure you separate them somehow. Otherwise, people like me are bound to take you literally. (Thanks for the photo, Jim!)
