Support Your Sumner County Schools Just By Shopping
Wed, Sep 17, 2008
If you’re like me, you go shopping most weekends. Maybe it’s for groceries or clothing. Perhaps you stock up on office supplies or DVDs. More than likely, you have a nice meal out.
Well in two weeks, your shopping can help the local school system, and you don’t have to do anything more than buy some stuff as usual.
Sumner COMPASS, a local nonprofit that aids in the development of partnerships between schools in Sumner County and area businesses, clubs, and organizations, is running a special program called Spend 4 Schools. On September 26 & 27–a Friday and Saturday–tons of local businesses are participating in Spend 4 Schools by donating a portion of every sale to COMPASS and area schools.
Some of the fine places you can patronize to participate include Barnes & Noble, the Black-Eyed Pea, Chick-Fil-A, Maggie Moos, Salsarita’s, Huntington Learning Center, and many more.
You can see the complete list here at the Spend 4 Schools website. You’ll need to get a small keychain tag like the ones from Kroger–they’re free–and then present it at purchase. But that’s quite a small amount of effort on your part to help the larger cause of supporting Sumner County Schools.
There are a bunch of ways to help the local schools–including attending a Board of Education meeting and letting your voice be heard–but this has got to be the easiest to come around in a while.

YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!! And you really are a good writer. I’m pretty sure more than half the board couldn’t have described the event so perfectly! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I will get you some information that will repay!
