Sumner Shortcuts

An awful wreck this morning on Vietnam Veterans (at New Shackle Island Road) has snarled traffic for hours this morning. 

Heading through town on Gallatin Road this morning–going toward Gallatin, away from Rivergate–the lanes going opposite mine were bumper-to-bumper standstill traffic.  I knew almost instantly that Vietnam Vets was closed.  From Dodge’s Store all the way to Drake’s Creek Park… cars were stacked up and going nowhere.  Ugh.

Apparently one car crossed the median and hit two other cars.  Tragically, one person has died from this accident.

Authorities say it may be 10:30 or later before the road is reopened.
